What makes setup faster
- Keep your business details ready. Business verification usually takes the longest. Meta asks for your legal business details and, if it can't match them to a record, documents such as a business licence. If you change the details later, you have to verify again. Documents you need →
- Use a number that is ready. It must be a number you own that can receive an SMS or a voice call. A number active on WhatsApp must be deleted from the app first — or, if it is on the WhatsApp Business app, connect it with *Connect Existing WhatsApp Business App*. Which number to use →
- Choose a display name that matches your business. A declined name can be edited and resubmitted, but each change goes back for review. Number and name errors →
- Write templates that follow Meta's rules. A clear category and real sample values avoid a rejection and a second wait. Why templates get rejected →
How messaging limits grow
Meta limits how many different customers your business can start conversations with in a moving 24-hour period. Limits are set for your whole business portfolio, so all your numbers share one limit. The steps are 250, 2,000, 10,000, 100,000 and unlimited.
To reach 2,000 you verify your business — or deliver 2,000 high-quality template messages to different customers in 30 days. Meta then checks your quality and raises the limit straight away if it is approved. After that, your limit goes up one step within 6 hours when your messages are high quality and you used at least half of your current limit in the last 7 days. Messaging limits explained →
