Rules that get WhatsApp templates approved
- Pick the honest category. Marketing = promotions, offers, re-engagement. Utility = updates about an existing order, account or request. Authentication = one-time codes. A promotion submitted as Utility is one of the most common rejection reasons.
- Never start or end with a variable. Wrap every {{variable}} in real words, and don't put two variables back to back.
- Give sample values. Meta reviews how the filled-in message reads, so every variable needs an example.
- Write like a person. No ALL CAPS, no vague "WIN BIG" claims, no misleading links in buttons.
- Keep buttons clear. Quick reply, Visit website or Call phone, with action labels like *Track order* or *Book now*.
- Rejected? It isn't permanent — fix the reason and submit a corrected template. Why templates get rejected →
