Business verification rejected? What to do next

A rejection is usually caused by a small mismatch — a name spelled differently, a missing address line or the wrong kind of document. Here are the reasons Meta lists, the fix for each, and how to try again.

Quick answer

Open Meta Business Suite → Security Centre and read the reason. Fix the exact cause — usually a name or address that doesn't match your document, a self-filled or expired document, or a website problem — then submit again. If your application was rejected outright, Meta says you may be eligible to appeal.

Reasons and fixes

Why Meta rejects verification — and the fix

Meta's reasonWhat it meansHow to fix it
Legal name doesn't matchThe name on your document is different from the name in business settings.Change the name in business settings to match the document exactly, or upload a document that shows the name exactly as in business settings.
Address doesn't match or is incompleteThe document shows no address, a partial address, or a different one.Upload a document that shows your legal name and full address together, matching what you entered.
Self-filed documentA form or filing receipt you filled in yourself, with no official signature or seal.Upload the approved registration certificate with an official signature and/or seal.
Document has expiredThe document's validity date has passed.Renew it and upload the new document with a current date.
Document can't be readThe file is small, blurry, low-resolution or corrupted.Scan again at a higher resolution and upload a clear file.
Language not supportedMeta supports verification only in certain languages.Get the documents translated into English, with the translation agency's official stamp.
Utility bill without business nameA bill shows the phone number but not the business name.Use a document that shows the business name as well.
Website problemThe site doesn't load, isn't HTTPS or opens an error page.Use a working HTTPS website that belongs to your business and shows its name or logo; use an email on the same domain.
False or misleading informationMeta believes the details are not true.Always submit true details. Meta says this can block verification permanently.

How to resubmit or appeal

1

Read the reason in Security Centre

Open Meta Business Suite → Security Centre and check your business verification status and the reason Meta gives.

2

Fix the cause

Match the reason to the table above: correct the name or address in business settings, or get the right document.

3

Check every item on the checklist

Name, full address, phone, website and email domain all match — and the document is official, clear and not expired.

4

Submit again or appeal

Resubmit with the corrected details or document. If your application was rejected outright, Meta says you may be eligible to appeal from Security Centre.

5

Answer Meta quickly

If Meta asks for more information, reply within one week — otherwise you have to start the process again.

Checklist before you resubmit

  • The legal name is spelled exactly the same in business settings and on every document
  • The full address is on the document and matches what you typed
  • The document is official — issued, signed or sealed — not a self-filled form
  • The document is not expired and the scan is clear
  • The document is in a supported language, or translated into English with an agency stamp
  • Up to two documents, both showing the legal name
  • Your website loads, uses HTTPS, belongs to your business and shows its name or logo
  • Your email is on the same domain as your website

Meta says a decision can take up to 14 business days, and that changing your business details later means verifying again.
