Quality rating

Green, yellow or red?

Green — High

Your number is in good standing. Keep doing what you're doing.

Yellow — Medium

An early warning: recent messages are getting negative feedback. Review what you send and ease off.

Red — Low

Quality is poor. Your messaging limit may be reduced, and continued problems can restrict the number.

How to recover and stay healthy

  1. Find the reason. Check the error code on the failed message and your number's rating in the Account quality tile on the Lead Pattern Home dashboard (or in Meta Business settings).
  2. For policy blocks (368, 131031) review Meta's Policy Enforcement guidance and fix the flagged violation.
  3. For spam limits (471, 131048) stop the campaign that caused it, then improve your messaging before sending again.
  4. For payment issues (131042) settle any outstanding dues or update the payment method.

What drives quality down

  • Blocks and reports — the strongest negative signals.
  • Irrelevant or unexpected messages to people who didn't opt in.
  • Messaging the same people too often.
  • Low-quality templates.

How to protect it

  • Only start conversations with customers who expect to hear from you.
  • Send useful, timely messages — not repeated promotions to the same audience.
  • Reply inside the 24-hour window and use templates thoughtfully outside it.
  • Treat yellow as an early warning and ease off before it turns red.

Frequently asked questions

Why was my WhatsApp Business number restricted?+

Usually because too many recipients blocked or reported it (error 471), or because of a policy violation (368, 131031). Check the code and your quality rating to see which.

Does a red quality rating lower my limit?+

It can. A red rating can lower your messaging limit, and a sustained drop can pause your number's ability to send.

Does Lead Pattern own my WhatsApp Business Account?+

No. You keep full ownership of the account in Meta Business settings; Lead Pattern connects to it through Meta's official API.
